Thank you for such an inspiring story, and if it had not been for Blog Action Day I could never have found your blog. It’s amazing to see how you turned such a negative experience into something positive, and believe me, it affected many more lives than just those three children you sponsored.

I heard that the money could go to people if some of that money is not allocated to charity. I think that as a result of this action will bring more benefit to the owner.

Great post. Sorry to hear you got taken so bad by the poor people in Thailand. They probably assume we’re walking on golden sidewalks and rolling in money in the great USA so it doesn’t matter what horrible things they do to us. Yeah right I wish.
I think it was incredibly how you decided to turn you horrible experience with Thailand into an opportunity to reach out and to give instead of an opportunity to become racist. I think you got it. You understood why they did what they did – which was most likely because they’re poor and you did something to help fix the problem instead of just hating them. I say you must be a very intelligent man and I respect you for your though process. I also participated in Blog Action day..
I didn’t have a lot of time so it’s not amazing just made a simple point.

Yaro, that sort of behaviour really upsets me as their are so many non profit organisations that need to money and support.

For anyone that is interested there is a non-profit organisation here in South Africa that I donate money too and I have been to see were my money goes and they are really amazing.

awesome post Yaro, i contribute whenever i can to a good cause, but i have to thank my fiancee for that, i only realized how much we can help when instead of having a birthday party, she located an orphanage of 200 kids and threw a party there instead, it was an amazing gesture and its something i will remember for the rest of my life.

personally i missed blog action day so i couldn’t do my part but your story is very inspiring is a great example of turning a bad situation into a good one..

A perfect post.

As the former Manager of Writing Services for World Vision, I can’t tell you how refreshing it was to see a totally non-stereotypical, positive response to the experience you had with the fraudster in Thailand. Wow, what a generous thing you did.

I’m still a huge fan of World Vision and wrote my Blog Action Day post about Abadou, a one-year-old boy whose life was saved by World Vision doctors in the deserts of Mali. There are many, many other outstanding nonprofits, but the work WV does in developing countries still touches me deeply.

Thanks for the story.

Some things happens to us,to show us the way to help someone.
I always helped friends and some times i had some troubles with my wife and i didnt mind it was a friend a good one…and always sayd to her that i do because i want and i dont want anything back from them…
Recently a friend from a friend offered me a job in another country receiving very well and i will leave 13.11.08 (i still dont know what to do with my website but…)

Thank You For This Post! As a beginning entrepreneur I also had highs and lows in my finances. Thru it all I have made giving back a priority. I believe in the power of giving. It is amazing what happens when you learn to give before you get, even when you are struggling. There is definitely a cosmic force at work. In today’s economic conditions I know many people and businesses can find it hard to give back. I think now is the perfect time to give. Because, there are more people that need our help. If every business made giving back even a little a regular part of their business, the incredible change we would see in our country and the world would seem no less than miraculous . I have another business that I have started recently that has yet to turn a profit however, we still sponsor and put on charity events. We do this because it is the right thing to do and sometimes you have to give before you can get. We know the profits will come and then we can help even more people.
