Great podcast with Perry. I wanted to bring to your attention something with yoru podcasts Yaro. A bad thing. Your valume levels are not equal between you and your caller. Usually as in the case of this podcast, I have to turn the volume way up in order to hear your voice, then when Perry comes back on, the volume is so loud that I nearly blast my eardrums out. I thought you should be alerted to this as it is a common occurence with many of your podcasts.
Larry
PS Your podcasts are very enjoyable and informative though. Just thought you should know.

I've honestly never heard of Perry Marshall, but will take the gift download and will listen to it. That should familiarise me with his work to better understand what you're trying to convey here. Thanks for sharing, Yaro!

This interview was my favorite in the series - an opportunity to listen to a down-to-earth expert explain exactly how he manages an excellent list. There is no ego in the way he describes his ascent to his current position. Great stuff.

The great thing with Perry Marshall is that he is not a hype guy, while all the other e-mail newsletters I receive are screaming nonsense, that reveal all the secrets of marketing universe.

Of course there are product links in Perry's newsletter, but not all the time and not all over the effing place. Sometimes you will receive one without any promotion. Just good information and something you should think about. His free stuff is already more valuable than all the other stuff I receive and delete after I have read the first three sentence.

There are some of his newsletters with such a good content that I tell them to people who don't have anything to do with Internet and not even with marketing.

That's quality. If there are any of this so called guru's listening and reading, let me tell you this: Listen AND Learn!

(Sorry for my typo's, I'm Dutch)

I've subscribed to Perry's emails for a few years now, and one of the things I've always admired is that his emails are genuinely useful and content-laden. Sure, there's a product link here and there, but that's not the focus of his communication.

I also found it quite interesting that, when I sent a response to one of his emails last year, he took the time to personally reply. That's pretty unusual, in my experience. And it's part of what keeps me opening his emails, even though hundreds of others are deleted unread.

Perry has made it a point to hone his "personal touch", as it relates to marketing, and internet marketers would do well to slow down and learn from his approach.

After all, the internet tends to lend itself toward impersonal communication, as if the potential of reaching a large number of people is enough to ensure success - but my observation is that those marketers who transcend the distant nature of the internet to establish real, personal connections are those who enjoy the greatest success in this business.

Thanks for posting this podcast, Yaro.

This is great content, I personally have been doing a lot of research on starting a blog and this is the sort of stuff that I am really looking at to start it up. I know this won't help a lot of readers but if you could talk about all the other steps to start up a blog, what you did before to start this blog up. Did you make the website yourself or had someone else design it for you. Basically things you do to start a blog.

Hi Yaro,
I really enjoyed this call. I think one thing that grabbed me out of this call was the "whore" sort of analogy. I definitely want to be a high class call girl rather than your every day street hooker. :)

Hi

I know perry marshall well as I am on his list and he certainly knows his stuff about adwords, not to mention many other areas about internet marketing.

What I like about Perry is that he doesn't continually spam you with lots of new products and offereings which is a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of the other so called gurus!

If you should listen to anyone about creating a successful online business, then Perry Marshall is a good man to aspire too!

Thanks

How can you quantify life lessons?

He was and remains influential and in fact after this call with him and some experiences I've had in the last few weeks, I cemented a decision I was thinking about regarding what I promote this year, which will be quite different from previous years.

Would you say that Perry's lessons are embedded on what you do and what you teach? How deep would that be?
