It’s just clicked over to midnight, happy Wednesday everyone. I’m absolutely buggered at the moment and about to head to bed but I feel like having a quick blog rant.
Lately I’ve been connecting with a lot of entrepreneurs. I’m having a great time, meeting new people that all share the same drives and passions that I do. It feels a bit like a club, a club for people running their own business. It’s membership is very driven, probably the most driven bunch of people I’ve ever met in my life. These are people that are chasing success during all times in life. Their ambitions go beyond just business, it’s a way of life.
Call me arrogant, but I’ve often felt a bit smarter than most of the people around me. I should clarify though, when I say smarter I mean in the sense that the choice I have made to be an entrepreneur is a lot smarter then what most of the people around me have chosen to do. I know plenty of people more intelligent than myself, with more booksmarts, more skills and abilities, but they are using these abilities to be normal, average. Their goals and dreams and aspirations are just like everyone else’s. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just not very interesting.
The entrepreneurs I’ve met lately though are interesting. They are running unique enterprises, have strong personalities and live very passionate lives. Most of them have huge goals, a lot more significant than the average person. These are people that make their own hours, work on tasks they enjoy and strive for success in everything they do. They face unique challenges everyday and wake up charged with energy and don’t switch off until they go to bed (if they can get to sleep with all that thinking about business going on!). I expect it’s people like this that will have a big impact on the society of tomorrow.
Right now I’m very excited about where my own businesses are going. My problem is deciding where to invest my time. Every project I have running is showing very positive results so much so that I’m torn about which project to focus on. Sure I must think about income but with so much potential in each activity it’s hard to stay focused. It’s a pleasant situation to be in, albeit it can be frustrating. I experience impatience frustrations almost everyday and I bet every entrepreneur out there can concur with me. We see what we want and we want it now, but it doesn’t work that way. It’s the journey, not the destination.
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi Yaro,
I found your website when I was searching for info about virtual secretary services. I read a few posts, so I know one of your projects is an editing service. I’m wondering if you think it would be a good idea to comb through your own blog and clean up a little — there are a few grammar/punctuation/typos, etc. — or do you think the people who are likely to be interested in BetterEdit are not coming to you through this blog?
I’m only curious because I’m freelance myself, and I know a bunch of other people who do all kinds of editing — from plain proofreading to full book editing — but so many of them don’t take time to proof/copy edit their own websites or blogs. Do you think this matters, in the long run?
Thanks very much for the great information about start-ups here, though; it’s hugely valuable and I do look forward to reading all articles.

Hi Kate - I presume you mean Entrepreneur’s Journey has typos and mistakes - a whole bunch of them no doubt!
This blog isn’t specifically meant to sell BetterEdit’s services. I have no doubt this blog does increase the awareness and certainly has some SEO benefits for BetterEdit.com too, but it’s not a direct sales tool.
It would just be too slow and too costly to have all my writings on this blog proofread and the cost/benefit would clearly make it a useless activity so I don’t do it.
If you managed a blog and you were promoting yourself as an editor then certainly you would want to make sure your writing was perfect on your blog. I’m not doing that and I’m quite far from being an editor - I have trained and experienced professionals working for BetterEdit.
Ideally of course I’d like to avoid typos whenever possible but in the grand scheme of things when it comes to blogging here it’s far from a critical concern.

I really think that editing your own blog is a bit like an auto mechanic changing his own spark plugs…You know it needs to be done, but unless things are broken & no longer function…It isn’t going to happen!
