Hey Chris,

After implementing AdSense on this blog I’ve watched a few banners and I think ad content is entirely dependent on the page content where the ad appears. I’ve noticed on a few of my smaller pages Google can’t find appropriate ads to place so it runs a charity ad. But most pages have ads geared toward the content on the page. This happened instantaneously as well, there was no “learning period”.

Hi Chris,

It’s been a long time since I used AdSense Chris so I would need to read up on the procedures to update myself but my understanding was that it might take time for AdSense to determine the right keywords for your site? Someone with more recent experience might be able to better answer this question.

I’m going to do a refresher with AdSense soon myself so I might be able to answer after that.

Hey Yaro- Quick question that maybe you can help me with. I just signed up for adsense and put the code on my site at http://www.chrispund.com on the bottom. But it is still showing generic adds and has been for about 5 days now. With AdSense automatically recognize my content and finally generate ads that are semi relevant to my content and not ads from non-profits trying to protect dogs and cats from being kept in houses? You are right Yaro, I completely ignore them too. However as is the case with you, I have been using the internet for a while now (over 12 years now).

I remember before the dot-com bust (god I hate that term) I used to run Banner Ads on my websites, the money wasnt that great, but there was still money! These days, AdSense is just some annoying text that you try your hardest not to read. I wonder how long it will take for google todo Image Ads. I am sure they will eventually.

Plus adsense isn’t that smart! I mean all it does is match some keywords for targetted advertising. And the end result?
