Web Business Spotlight: MySearchIsOver.com

Today I am launching a new feature spotlighting another aspiring web entrepreneur and his or her web business. This idea came about because Adam, the owner of MySearchIsOver.com contacted me asking about advertising rates. Since I’m not taking advertisers at the moment but I wanted to help provide some exposure for Adam’s project I thought it would be interesting to learn a bit more about Adam and his web business project and use it as an article on Entrepreneur’s Journey.

My name Is Adam Ford. I am 25 and from Flint Michigan, USA. I’m a recent graduate of the University of Michigan – Flint and the Founder of My Search is Over.com, the guide to the best online content on the net. Right now I work on my website while doing customer service at a call center. While at work I have become a master at internet research which has helped me find links for my website.

I fell upon the idea for My Search is Over.com by accident. I was having trouble with geocities.com limiting my picture transfer bandwidth. I began looking for cheap file transfer services. Then I realized I could just get a website instead for about the same price. I found this out due to a random ad from sitelutions.com. I would not recommend them for hosting but they are rather cheap.

The name also came by accident. I was trying to have a strictly business directory but while looking for one I stumbled on mysearchisover.com and decided to register it. Not having any web design experience caused me many difficulties. It took me days to figure out how to even get a page online. It took months before I had any real links up but now I feel like I am actually getting decent at HTML. I would recommend anyone considering doing a web business to learn HTML. You can find some good html websites as well as webmaster tools on my webmaster page at http://mysearchisover.com/webmaster/. I created this page mainly for myself but you might find some useful things there as well. You can also look at the source code for my pages but they are not role models.

What is the goal of My Search is Over.com? The goal is to guide users to the best online content on the internet. To begin with I decided to focus on the key areas of Health, Fun, Shopping, Business and Religion. I have found some very shocking health information especially in the areas of cancer. Some examples are that the fluoride they use in water can be considered toxic waste. They also add chlorine to water and that has been used to kill soldiers in gaseous form.

My advice to new entrepreneurs would be to gain expertise in your future field at whatever the cost, even if means helping someone else out for free that is in your field. Another idea would be to go into an area you are interested in. It is also good to find a mentor that will help you along the way or at least give you advice or input.
