This will be an ongoing project for as long as it takes to get a good picture of which article directories are the best to submit to (based mostly on traffic generated.) Then, I’ll make a top 25 list of the best to submit to.
It should be interesting reading to see how well the different article directories perform at generating traffic in a live case study.
Thanks for sharing your article submission project. Well, I think traffic can depend on various factors apart from the reputation of the directory. For example some directories use the keywords you suggest, while some just ignore it. The traffic may also depend on the rank of the subdirectory for the category you select.

I’ll be interested in seeing your top 25 list in the future. Many article directories are on auto-pilot with automatic submissions. The ones that pay special attention to their direct signups (human edited directories) are usually the best ones.
