I can't exactly "switch off" email for any length of time at the moment. I'd like to be able to do that one day without risk to my income flows. It's acceptable but it's funny since my older business is now like the job where in the past it used to be my passion while I had a "real job" (part time). I considered my business as where real freedom for me existed in the future. Interesting cycle - greater freedoms with each new occupation though, which is fantastic. The idea is no different to what writers have been doing for years to knock out a book or film. Also same as bands going to studios in remote locations to bang out an album. Places like Byron Bay, Port Douglas and the Mornington Peninsula have became havens for creative types to start and finish their projects without distraction. Though the kicker for business people / tech guys would be to have the self control and ability to switch off from email, phone, IM, and web for the "working holiday" timeframe.
