Kingston

Kingston OntarioI’m writing this post from my hotel room in Kingston, Ontario, the home of Queens university and prisoners - there are a whole lot of penitentiaries in the area.

Kingston is a lovely little city dominated, as far as I can tell, by students. It’s the first time I have been in a “university town” as they are called - cities that are focused on one big university, which drives the economy and accounts for a big chunk of the population.

Everywhere on the streets there are students walking around, which is cool. It made me feel like studying again and living the student life. If it wasn’t for essays, exams and tuition fees, I’d do it.

We hadn’t planned on staying in Kingston but because of a major accident on the freeway we opted to stay one more overnighter before driving back to Toronto in the morning.

I’m totally done with eating out now and can’t wait to cook and eat a home-made meal, although since I only have four days before heading to Florida for another week of travels I’ll have to “suffer” through restaurant food again soon enough.

Speaking of eating out - the hotel I am staying in tonight is nestled in the middle of a street that contains no less than eight junk food outlets - KFC, Arbys, Wendys, McDonalds, Harveys, Dairy Queen, Swiss Chalet, A&W…and I think I am forgetting a few. I’m amazed the market can sustain so many businesses!

Well that’s it for now. I hope everyone got some nice Feb 1 payments for their hard work blogging during January. I had some nice big deposits thanks to ReviewMe and Text-Link-Ads (aff). These two services are fast becoming the dominant monetization methods for my blogs.

Hi Yaro

I made a website last night and within 24 hours I have been interviewed on 6 radio stations, 2 newspapers and one television station.

That includes 4BC which I think you are familiar with.. well I hope so given that it’s in your city and one of the major stations. :)
http://www.savethemexicanwave.com is the site but it has delivered huge traffic to my actual site jonksbargains.com

what an example of PR and Marketing hey?

[…] Another benefit Text Link Ads gives you is from their affiliate program. Some of the top blogs that I’ve read, like John Chow’s blog and Entrepreneurs Journey, claim to be making really well with the affiliate program. You get $25 for every referral that makes a purchase of text links or gets accepted as a publisher. The referrals start adding up fast as more and more blogs and sites are granted publisher status to sell text links. […]
