Upgraded To WordPress 2.1

I’ve just completed the upgrade of this blog to the latest WordPress 2.1.

I *think* everything converted safely but if you do come across any broken links or site features that don’t seem to be working correctly please let me know.

Robert Kingston just did the same at SmallBusinessBranding.com, so if you see any errors at that blog let Rob know too.

Cheers everyone!

I upgraded also…on all of my blogs.

    Yaro,
I just finished listening to some of your podcasts (Michael Chenney, and the guy from copyblogger.com)

You asked some really great questions, that there was some really good information that was taken from it.

Keep up with the podcasts, and interviews, and your own works, because for some of us new guys to the internet business/marketing, you (and the other experts), are a great source of inspiration and motivation that compels us to do something great with our own work.

Passion and drive are truly what makes any business successful, but sometimes you need help from guys who have the technical and background experience to make our own work rewarding not just in recognition for the community, but financially stable as well.

Thanks. And your site is definately an internet destination, not some “toll booth” for passing through (you had talked about this in Chenney’s interview)

    Hey Yaro,

Everything seems to be working fine here.

Incidentally I noticed you linked to one of my posts about a week ago, but the link in my feedreader is broken when I tried to click through to the article on your site..?

The update was straightforward enough for me, resulting in just a minute of disrupted blog layout.

Everything seems fine with you and I guess there’ll be no problems, even though I was a little concerned about my first ever WP upgrade.

Kunal – Thanks for the feedback and I’ll definitely keep pumping out podcasts whenever I get a chance to.

I’ve got four interviews coming out as bonuses to the blog SEO book I’m about to release so stay tuned for those.

    Yaro,

It looks like you have flawless upgrade too. I was just at Robert Kingston’s Small Business Branding and was blown away by how extensive his setup is there. I’m just installing a new WordPress 2.1 blog on my server (I only used blogger ’till now) and I’m having a rough time of it. I’m close to deleting it and starting again.

Hey, Yaro…it’s time to get serious about a website for my sales promotion marketing agency. I like the blog format because it want the interaction.

Are you still pleased with WordPress? Any other blog software apps that are worthy of consideration? The key features I need are:
    - video to play on page
    - easy to manage
    - multiple pages…some will be static
    - easy to upload and size pictures
    - ability to sell items, including ebooks that will download from site with payment
    - SEO compatible, eg keywords and tags
    - Free tracking

Can WordPress do all this? Any direction for learning resources?

    Thanks a million,
    Steve
