I’m going to launch membership site-service but I doubt that email list is necessary there. Email lists services seems outdated for now. Email subscriptions successfully replaced with RSS feeds.

The tricky part is developing the marketing plan. Like you said, it’s also the most important part.

Yaro, thanks so much for this membership site series. I can’t wait to see what software and technologies you are using to develop these membership sites. I personally started a membership site about a year ago at banjoexpert.com and it was one of those dead runs. I simply didn’t have enough membership knowlege at the time. Jason – As I mentioned in the article you can use other methods, like pay per click advertising, to quickly build a list. You don’t have to have a high traffic site to launch a membership site.
