Just thought I’d express the opinion that this is not the sort of post we regular readers expect … “I haven’t had a chance to review Paul’s stuff” … my mailbox (and blocked email folder) are already full of such links. In accord with your own advice, ’tis better not to make a post when you don’t have time to do it right .. certainly I cna go back through my blogging efforts and tell at first glance which ones I posted in a hurry…

And this may be another of those Aussie versus Yank English things but I’m completely baffled by the use of the word “throngs” in the context you used it. A typo or another usage I need to learn to become more international?

Be of good cheer, my friend, one thing I have already learned well from you is _not_ to attempt any “build your own course” project. I had thoughts along those lines once in the past but now that I see how much you’ve been going through I just hope you make it out the other side in one piece.

Well if 5 or 6 is a “throng” then it’s correct, I certainly would have used “throes”, a condition of heroic or even agonizing struggle, often associated with giving birth to something … as opposed to throngs (normally of people). The throngs will come later when signup is in full swing, we hope.

Didn’t really mean it to sound arguementative, though … most dictionaries just define words in terms of other words such that they become a circular argument anyway … I was just checking that it wasn’t a down-under thing.

With regards to Paul and the original criticism, my view still holds … I guess a better way to phrase it would have been just to post the link _without_ the disclaimer, it was the disclaimer that made it seem out of tune with the rest of you philosophy/quality.

I have to agree with David Starr, I’m trying to find a review of this book and the only thing I can get on Google is this, which isn’t helpful since you haven’t read the book. Has anyone out there read it yet? Let me know if you have and your honest opinion. Thanks!
