I completely agree will yaro all the content will always matter just we need is to adapt the change in web time to time as it goes. As only experinced bloggers can cop up with all new web not newbies so it is all old bloggers will hold it.

Tate - Content will always matter, how we consume it changes. Blog content, as long as it is relevant and valuable, will always be popular, it just may be consumed different in Web 3.0, if there is such a thing.

The question for me is - what will happen to all these blogs when web 3.0 hits? When everyone jumps to video or 3d or whatever it is... will all this content we're developing be useful or even relevant?

Bloggish anything has definitely become. I was just drafting a press release and was hesitant about using the word blog and bloggers (I wanted to dumb it down with "weblog") but I came to the acceptance that this is truly a part of our vocabulary now!

Yaro - another article you've hit out of the park. I have also found being active in the blogosphere and actually leaving comments helps your site with back links - most new bloggers don't realize it helps the blogger and helps you. I always enjoy your posts - thanks.

Meg - Forums are great and provide a different service that is still necessary. I don't think forums count as Web 2.0 officially, but in terms of the conversation they count just as much as they ever have, except now we have blogs, social networking and bookmarking etc contributing as well.

I agree but I wish Facebook would be more open about the "blogging" (notes). As it stands now if you want to use the Facebook API to retrieve these notes programmatically, you have to login to the api at the time you want to retrieve the notes. I think they should at least leave the option for this feed to be public through rss, atom, etc without the need for login. But, alas, Facebook is very protective of their data. See this article for info http://www.insidefacebook.com/2007/09/24/will-facebook-tax-the-platform/

I hear ya. We're actually thinking of foregoing forums all together on our new fashionmash.com site & instead just encouraging users to participate directly on each other's message boards or on the blog.

I am curious to know what you think of forums & if you think messages & blogs provide enough community interaction.

Yes Web 2.0 is about participation, sort like distributed network in the hardware world where the client share the load of the server.
