Talkstream Launches & Thanks To Long Term Sponsor Get Response

I’d like to thank Simon Grabowski and his company Implix (the parent company behind the Get Response email autoresponder), who have been a long term sponsor of Entrepreneurs-Journey and have just renewed for another six month campaign.

Get Reponse has supported this blog since it was less than half the size it is now and without help from sponsors like them I doubt I would still be working as hard as I do at my blogging.

Get Response is an industry leading email autoresponder service and worth investigating as one of your top choices if you are looking to start email marketing.

Talkstream Video and Audio Streaming Service Launches

Talkstream LogoImplix’s latest offering, Talkstream, launched last week and on first inspection looks pretty good. Simon and his team are really following the trends, this time offering a video and audio subscription service designed to make multimedia production accessible to everyone, even absolute amateurs.

TalkStream offers -

Audio & Video Tools - All you need is a microphone for audio and a webcam for video. No special software, no expensive hardware, no programming skills are needed.

Podcast Tools - Communicate with your visitors more effectively. Syndicate, distribute and promote your content on iTunes and other podcast networks, automatically.

Phone Tools - Client testimonials recording.

It’s worth visiting the Talkstream website just to see the wonderful talking lady who gets very excited about all that Talkstream has to offer ;) . You can’t offer a video service without using some kind of video to promote right? - Although I would have preferred to see Simon there talking to me because I like the personal touch, but maybe that’s because I’m a blogger.

If you have been thinking about podcasting and/or video blogging, perhaps Talkstream is the answer to break down the technical barriers so you can get started.

Hi Yaro

I joined a trial of Talkstream about a month ago and its great (around Oct-Nov 2007). I also tried instantaudio.com and they too, are excellent for instant audio publishing for your sites - but they are more expensive and don’t have video or podcasting tools.

Talkstream also has great bandwidth (20GB), abiity to manage files and folders, create audio postcards, publish instantly, and create some great customisable players (audio and video). I’m not sure how much storage space you get though.

Creating audio and video is so easy - no software to mess about with - just plugin your microphone and select the options (and yur webcam if you have one). Also configures optimal setttings for you.

Plus you can upload your own media files, which is good, because if you choose instant recording over the internet (just plugin microphone, etc), you can’t add music/effects, etc) - so the upload feature overcomes this. Have yet to test and learn the ‘podcast’ feature.

I have also yet to try embedding code into my blogs and will do soon - given that it is a new service, keeping fingers crossed! Sound quality is great though when you play back your recordings, which can also be edited.

- also - can get phone-in reader testimonials, and you can also record your own audios via phone if you are not near your computer

However, you can also get recorded testimonials via the ‘mychingo’ online voice recorder, which Yaro also has here on his site - just create your player graphic/options and paste code onto your blog or site (there is a free membership option for 2 minute recordings, and for 30 minute recordings, its very cheap at 3.95/month (highly recommend this!)

So far, I have tested some audio postcards on TalkStream (not many templates available like instantaudio) - but they worked great - received some excellent feedback from friends. And just ‘played’ around, explored the services.

If the embed/publishing codes and players work ok - I give this site a top ranking! And I suspect, given that it is relatively new, that the more people that join and see the value there, the price will eventually rise (especially given that other sites such as instant audio, or videogenerator, are more expensive and have less functions)

Thanks Yaro for the intro to it :)
I just wish there was ‘one’ solution for everything - and I currently need 3 memberships to do what I want, including podcasting, uploading pre-recorded audios/vidoes, hosting space, instant recording/publishing, hosts for lesson series (eg via talkshoe.com or blogtalkradio.com), recording interviews (difficult with only one sound card on most computers - eg via skype, although there are software options available, some free, some paid - eg vemoticon is free), etc - one site may come close but misses just one thing! AHH - one day perhaps.

Anyway - just thought I’d share my experiences with you - and may write more later when I have actually tried the codes and audios on my blogs (unfortunately my internet connection is a little too slow for the video quality - typical for Australia! we are far behind the times in this respect).

hope this helps?

Kind Regards
Megan
