Amazon Increases Commissions to 20% on MP3 Downloads

Amazon Affiliate ProgramAmazon just announced that it will be offering a flat 20% commission on all Mp3 downloads from their marketplace. This is great news for those of you that use the Amazon affiliate program (Amazon associates). If you don’t, you can sign up by clicking here – Amazon associates program.

This increase is over double the top commission for selling anything else on the site. Your Amazon associates income increases with volume normally (the highest producing affiliates earn about 12%), but with the new Mp3 program, everyone earns a flat 20%. This is a really easy to make some extra affiliate income especially when most songs are less than a dollar. You can even buy complete albums starting at $5.99.

Head on over and check out this program. It could be a great way to cash in on a fast and furious mp3 market. The commissions will drop to 10% in January, so earn that money while you can!

Unless I have a bookstore in my blog or I write books reviews in my blog, there’s no way I can make good money with Amazon.

I am going to start a books review blog soon. I hope that at that time, I can have the chance to add Amazon into my inventory.

Wayne – I disagree. You can sell more through Amazon than just books or music. They’ve got just about everything from furniture to video games. It’s very possible that you can still make money by inserting affiliate links from time to time when doing a blog post. For example… when talking about a book you just read – “The 4-Hour Work Week” you can insert the affiliate link in your post. Or if you are talking about an audio program that may help your blog… same thing. Although it’s not site-specific, you can definitely make money with the program if you use a little creativity here and there.

    Good luck!

Like most money making online, Amazon Associates takes a lot of traffic and then people willing to fork over the money for the products you’re linking to. I’ve found over time that there’s other places I’d buy a book, cd or dvd at before Amazon. Although I use the program I haven’t seen a ton of profits..The MP3 deal may give a little bit if done right with the right niches..

I’ve been using amazon associates program for a while now. I run a few online shopping sites, and I think that the program is definitely worth it, but it does take some time to build up a good traffic stream that converts in to purchases.

I wrote about my amazon experiences in my blog. If anyone wants to read more about it.

I am curious about how to build up my Associate traffic without using the Astore. It seems like that doing reviews and mini-posts about specific products as it applies to me is a sound method.

    Any thoughts?
