Isn’t google going to provide wimax service to all major cities…

also offering free calls…on condition of…
1. reqlinquising anonymity eg. you are profiled.
2. hearing audio ads instead of ringtones!

Lipton – I used to use hotrecorder and you can change it to mono using Audacity so your voice comes out of both sides.

Nowadays though I use pamela, which comes with Skype.

Jon, that’s an interesting point about WiMax. Did you notice that Cisco bought Navini earlier this week? With Intel in the Wimax game, and now Cisco, Wimax could really take off. Of course there are a lot of obstacles with a different wireless protocol, but it could be interesting.

I think that the cost of the service have a strong impact in the future of telephony… And VoIP have a great potential to become the most cheaper way to talk by cell phone.

That is really cool, I’ll be one of the first to try their service out I love skypee… only thing is, when recording interviews using its hotrecorder plugin, I hear myself only in the left channel and the interviewee in the right.

It’s very possible, especially with the rapid development of Wimax (citywide wireless networks that provide broadband Internet access). Most cities are supposed to have access by the middle of 2008 in the US.

Eventually, everything is supposed to be routed through it — Internet, cell phones, cable television. It’s supposed to replace everything that requires wires, except electricity.

Skype is a natural competitor. I’ve actually been expecting this for a couple of years now.

Yaro I love to hear when Skype hav a new development. Those guys are CLEVER. Also that 3 is their partner. I have been watching 3 over a while now and they have competed in quite novel ways. Let’s wait and see what happens
