Jenny – Yes, I noticed that some of the Blog Mastermind students were noticing jumps in PageRank. I’d say that for many of you it’s the first time you had PageRank and the last update, while punishing some bloggers for selling links (like me), also helped others to get their first PR.

Hi Yaro

There is nothing better than getting away – and even better when Byron is so close. You have to feel sorry for everyone else who doesn’t get to have this luxury.

You are absolutely right about enjoying what you do so that it doesn’t feel like work, even when you have to do it on holidays. I think that if people do find this hard work then they are better off looking elsewhere.

Traveling and blogging, that has been my life for most of 2007. Most places have free wifi now and even some cheap backpacker places. It is not so difficult I think to maintain your sites on the road. If it is too hard, I think you need to change your business strategy.

Welcome back Yaro,

Isn’t Byron a fun little spot? I love the hippie atmosphere as it brings good food and good coffee.

It is interesting to see your little excersise in terms of blogging. When I was in MLM I traveled the world going from one convention to the next and once when on holidays for a full month in Florida I had to spend 2 hours every night tracking orders, emails and what not else.

This can be quite disturbing for those who travel with you and it takes a bit of discipline and preparation in the mind.

I can easily see that being a blogger won’t be much different either. I’m dreaming of traveling around OZ again with a campervan and a great Internet connection which will allow me to keep working and enjoying time off too.

Years ago I used to run a mail order company all by myself and that was a nightmare because orders came in through the post and had to be processed manually. This was before the days of the internet. I just couldn’t take a holiday back then without simply stopping service on the business which was a no-no.

Nowadays with online businesses and worldwide (almost) Internet access I think it’s great. I can’t afford a holiay yet but when I can I’ll certainly enjoy it knowing that I can still do some work on the side.

Is having a new blog, and going on vacation a bad thing then? I’ll be heading to Mexico about 2 weeks from now, and well My blog just started up about two months ago with a little traffic coming in. While I’m not a full time blogger, it still nags at me that while I’m out there, I probably won’t have access to a computer or internet. Even though I have a small visitor base it still feels like I need to blog something or the little reader base I have will go away.

Jeremy – I’d like to tell you it’s because I do yoga, go rollerblading, walk a lot, use the treadmill, do some weights and try and never spend too long a stretch in front of the computer without getting up and doing something…

But, the most likely culprit is my genes. My mum is skinny and I’m built like a stick with the metabolism of a Ferrari.

I laughed because I would swear you heard my dilemma while I was on my Caribbean cruise. I’m just starting my blog and felt really guilty when I was unable to connect to the internet (due to time or energy). I feel better knowing that you think about this too. You are a man that shares some of the same interests as we do – beaches and lighthouse. Of course, being stuck in the middle of the Arizona desert, we don’t have either anywhere close by!

Interesting test on conducting business away from home. We hope to sometime soon be able to do the same thing. Our dream is to purchase a motorhome and cruise around the US. Satellite Internet will become our friend when we are in the middle of nowhere!
