The advice is great as long as it’s taken the right way. If you’re going out commenting then please actually read the article and post a relevant comment. Nothing annoys me more than all of those comments that just say “Great Post” and “Wow, I’m going to tell everyone to read this”. Excuse me while I go empty my spam folder, again!

Hi Yaro
I comment on other blogs to get noticed out there in the blogosphere.
Plus it encourages people to visit your site and hopefully leave a comment.

If the site uses CommentLuv then you get a link to your latest post, which can only help build traffic and community.
There are also plenty of bloggers who will comment on your blog if you comment on theirs.

Only takes a couple of minutes to read a post and leave a comment and who knows who may visit you in return.

Blog commenting also helps the author to know the reaction of each visitor. Yes, your right! Commenting on every blog can build more traffic to some comment posters to gain more visitors from the other blogs.

yeah this makes a lot of sense. I dont blog for money, just for fun. ha ha so I blog more for commenters than traffic. its like sharing views, about the post.

for some reason I only believe that the few people that commented are the only people that read my blog. even though logically they are not.

Leave a comment a day is a good rule to live by!

In the UK we seem to reserved and don’t like to comment on blogs. It’s trmendous encouagement for bloggers when they read comments (good and bad) from others.

Blogs are conversations between people.

… oh and be natural, don’t force your blogging talk about real stories that involve real people – yourself!

I completely agree, but it only one of the things of the tiers to link building for a successful campaign that drives traffic. I try to vary up my link building as much as possible, to make it appear more organic. But I’m not interested in driving traffic from other blogs, I’m more interested in driving traffic from Google. Am I last?

Just want to add to the discussion that it does not only bring traffic but you actually start to make friends! They end up helping you if you are new – make suggestions.

I also do everything else that Yaro suggests in his Blog Mastermind. Have placed in 15 Carnivals out of 15 entered. 25 articles on Ezine. Writing 3 to 4 pillars a week. Learned to Stumble!

Now, on to podcasting – Scared to death of it but onward and upward!

Yaro,

That’s a good point, but Caroline does discuss the time/results ratio of leaving comments on 10-15 different blogs per month. It’s true she got over 700 new visitors, but in the end she made $0 for the month in terms of income.

For new bloggers who have to deal with so many different components of a business, how to you include a function like comments on blogs and forum in a way that actually brings in tangible results…and not just people landing on your homepage?

Very interesting statistics indeed. Since the SEO benefit from blog posts was pretty much nullified, there’s been far less in the way of blog commenting as a marketing tool, but this puts a whole new spin on things. Top stuff
