For those that keep track of search engine optimisation and were expecting a Google PageRank update I can report that all of the sites I manage experienced an update just recently today (Friday the 22nd of April 2005).
PageRank (PR) is a system Google uses to assess the popularity of a site. PR takes into account incoming and outgoing links from a site and uses these links as votes that determine rankings. As a webmaster one of things you strive for is to increase your PR. It plays an important role when trying to establish link exchanges with other sites. Many webmasters won’t do a link exchange with you unless you link to them from a page with a certain PR.
If you are interested in learning more about PR I suggest you try here and here.
In my case, BetterEdit.com returned to a PR4 which is great because we dropped to a PR3 last update. Yaz! being a new site received it’s first ranking of a PR3 which is also pretty good considering it’s only been online a few months. Student-Marketing is at a PR2 which is appropriate since that site has not been marketed online very much.
The best news of all though is Entrepreneur’s Journey (your reading it!) also got it’s first PageRank, a PR4 which I’m pretty pleased about.
What’s your new PageRank?

I found this blog from Google, lots of nice info, Thank you for that.
I also have a blog and my PR is now a 3, not great but not horrible right?
not great but not horrible
Sounds about right Bobby
I have a PR of 4, and its stayed the same for a while, but what I keep on noticing is that its MSN and Yahoo rankings are increasing — which is all right with me.
