Product Launch Video Case Study – The Sales Page

With my new Macbook Pro I have some sophisticated video tools available and I’m not afraid to use them – so be warned!

As many of you know, I’m reopening Blog Mastermind hopefully in just a couple of weeks time. What this means is a ton of work for me to get things ready.

Entrepreneurs-Journey.com has always been about sharing the behind-the-scenes details of my business with you, so I’m going to do a series of video posts talking about exactly what I am working on for the relaunch of Blog Mastermind. I prefer to teach through what I am doing rather than talking about theories and observations without practical experience.

This is a real live case study of a real live product launch, so if launching a product of your own using your blog (or not) is something that interests you, stay tuned, you will enjoy my upcoming videos. You might want to subscribe to my RSS feed if you haven’t already to make sure you don’t miss any.

Note since this is a case study you will get the good with the bad. My launches are far from perfect and there is room for improvement. Also since my video skills are still underdeveloped I apologize for any production issues – I’d rather get something out to you than kill myself trying to make it perfect. No doubt I’ll get better with practice too :-) .

Case Study Video 1: Talking About The Sales Page

Here’s the first video of the case study talking about what I’m working on right now – the sales page – Enjoy!

I should have the next video out to you tomorrow.

Fantastic I am really looking forward to this series. I hope the videos end up bringing you a traffic boost ala Youtube. One way to increase the reach of your videos is to sign up for free for Veoh as a Pro and then with one simple click syndicate the video in Youtube, myspace videos and Google videos thus getting four times the value out of the one video (Veoh is one of the top websites so it’s far from a traffic dwarf but throw in the rest and you have gold).

Thanks for the suggestion Mwangi. There seems to be quite a few video syndication services around lately.

Really interesting stuff, Yaro. I’m grateful that you’re willing the share the process – warts and all.

So, will you be competing with the StomperNet guys for slick videos?

Lol, I don’t think so – at least not yet Maria.

Talking head and screen recording is about the best I can do for now, but I’ll keep playing and see what I can learn.

I enjoyed your video and would love some more from you later. Good work!

That is what makes you a teacher, not a lecturer or pretender. You show step by step how you achieve a thing and we get to learn valuable lessons from the mistakes! Nobody is trying to flatter you here. You are doing a great job and we are happy about it.

Count me in! I am looking forward to the videos ;-) Cheers.

    Hi Yaro,

Actually I am having problem with getting a good and affordable all-in-one Internet marketing solution. Somehow the softwares and services available online are not customizable enough for more innovative Internet marketing approaches such as the affiliate system you mentioned in the video. Why don’t you consider hiring programmers and web designers to do the work for you? They can devise the exact online business system that you want. I guess you can afford the expenses of doing so.

Hiring programmers for custom solutions is an option, but bear in mind the development time can take months and if you want to manage the project it will suck your time and your money.

    Hey Yaro

Just noticed that you’re next vid is showing where the first vid is supposed to go. Probably the player that you are using…I think it plays your latest vid.

Maybe just use the normal embed code?

    Gideon

PS: Loved the second vid BTW. You’re are becoming a real pro with mac now…I’ll need to get some tips from you now ;)

Yaro this is going to be good to watch…

I need a new laptop and I think Mac might be the way to go after seeing what you are doing… what about all those programs that are not Mac compatible?

Looking forward to the next vid.

    Hi Yaro,

    Three questions for you:

    1. What apps do you use for videos?

    2. Would you be happy to share your experience about the switch to Mac on http://switchstories.com/stories/ ? I believe in choice when in comes to software and it would be great to find out how the new platform impacts your entrepreneurial life.

    3. In your e-book, which I really enjoyed reading, you wrote about focusing on one project at a time. I struggle with this and spread my attention too much. I outsource some of the projects but still need to manage them a bit. How to resist temptation? Any tips?

      1. Screenflow for Mac desktop recording and just iMovie for talking heads.

      2. A bit too busy for that at the moment sorry!

      3. Create a to-do list and only do the tasks on the to-do list.

    Hi Yaro,

Thant’s one great video! I would really like to learn from you about the process of creation of a sales page. I bet you’d have brilliant ideas about how to test what diffferent layouts do for the conversion.
