I’ve become good friends with the recently revealed man behind the John Cow mask - Jason Katzenback.
Just this week he grabbed me for a half hour session to talk blogging. During this chat we cover some interesting topics, such as how to drive traffic to your blog, the mindset necessary to carry you through to success with an Internet business or blog and how to choose a topic if you are new to blogging.

Hi Karanam - I checked my member statistics recently and there are already a few people inside Blog Mastermind from India, which is very cool to see.
So you won’t be the first if you join
That is one great advise from the recording. Thanks.
you blog inspired me since 4 months ago
anyway, my favorite section is ‘Podcast’.
And, one thing, this posted is really awesome; because it’s another brand new podcast for me to listen while driving :p
Thanks Yaro!

Yaro,
I love, love, love your stuff. Thanks for the Blueprint, the videos and all the articles. I am a success coach, and am good at what I do, but I knew nothing about blogging until I stumbled onto your site (I can’t even remember how I found it.) I’ll definitely be in your next coaching class. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks. I just put my blog up. Maybe you could take a peak and give me some critique? Keep up the great work.

Yaro,
A fine chat
- to highlight, choosing a topic is always the first and foremost important step to take (and always troubles startup bloggers)
Cheers!
Arrived via John Cow …..
I reckon I’ll be signing up with you …. only reservation I have is the whole issue of choosing a ‘niche’ ….
Is it possible to become ‘expert’ at something one is not expert in?
Hi Paddy - Yes, through experience and research. But ultimately you can’t ever be an expert without knowing more than other people and them desiring that knowledge.
Have a read of this article, it follows the discussion you started here -
http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/758/most-bloggers-are-reporters/
Thanks for recording this, I hadn’t realized “John Cow” was such a useful blog. Jason made several helpful contributions to the conversation. I’m going get his ebook.
Jason, the new “Cow”, is a top Internet marketer. He REALLY knows his stuff.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful recording. The information you have got here wll be of great help. I am sure more people would love to listen to this . Thanks yaro!
Hi there - I have come across some of your work online recently and I really like what you do. The direction you give makes a lot of sense and I intend to read more of your work, as well as visit your blog more often. Thank you!
Nice chat, I haven’t been a fan or the “new” cow. But the info is good. Thanks.
I’m happy that you talked with John Cow and not John Chow. John Cow is way better and actually it’s more of a blogger. John Chow has became a huge joke so I’m glad he picked the better of the two.
Yaro, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, I read your blog profits blue print and I created my site with my team by following your blueprint. I will join your program soon too. Thanks alot.
Yaro, please check out my site, and let me know what you think. Thanks a bunch.
My team and I just started our website, and I just wanted to invite everyone who read this to check out the site, and enter our weekly raffle for a FREE exclusive HTC Shirt. (Yaro, I am doing a small river marketing, hehe) See you all there!
Just wanna say that this blog is amazing and thank you
Thanks for the cool tips. Man you rock. Some other guys would have asked us to pay for the material
Of course, it is worth paying for, but that would have negated your principle. Cheers.
Hey Yaro,
First, I am pulled in by your blog. You seem sincere and possess a lot of good info. Thanks!
At the same time (and this doesn’t solely apply to you), occasionally I wonder if folks like yourself, Darren Rowse, and others aren’t merely making money from telling other people “how to make money.”
It’s a bit like the real estate seminar leader saying how to make big money in real estate, but a part of you wonders just how much they made on their own, independent of their current gig of relaying to others how to do it.
Hopefully, this isn’t too offensive. I sometimes just wonder, though.
Thanks again,
Bert
Hey Bert - It’s a fair question and one I have considered about other Internet marketers too.
Most people who actually make a good living selling how to make money products have actually made money in other niches. It’s actually quite hard to profit in the make money niche unless you actually gained some skills and experiences in other areas.
People who try and blog about or sell in the make money online niche who haven’t actually made money before, generally don’t do so well, for obvious reasons.
In my case my first profitable site was about a card game called Magic, then I had an online proofreading business, and offline English tutoring business, I’ve had a network of sites about mini bikes, a blog about small business and a forum about music.
All of these have been profitable ventures for me and I use the skills and experiences from this when I teach others. This blog would not be what it is today if I didn’t go through this because I would have nothing to teach and no stories to tell.
I’m assuming here, but appears your by far biggest success has been this advice blog.
But, as you note, without learning how to be successful at other ventures, you would lack the conviction and wisdom you’re now able to impart.
Thanks again!
Yes and no Bert. My proofreading business brought in a five figure income for several years consistently before selling for six figures.
Although I’m certainly building on each experience for an even greater result. I expect long term, you are right, this blog and the business around it will be the most successful so far…
Who knows what will come after that though!
You have to remember for a lot of people who are good at making money online, the most fun they can have is helping others to do the same and thus teaching and selling how to do so is what they enjoy focusing on. I certainly feel this way.
Once you have the skills, there’s a lot to be gained teaching others.
good stuff yaro,
reading your blue prints book was an eyeopener!
well, i’m always mixing up the two John chow and cow.
thanks for that, and stay in charge!
Dear Yaro,
I believe that I need my own server with Wordpress.org? Is that true? Can I use my own tabletop computer or do I have to rent or own a server? I found out that I need my own server from the book,”Blogging for Dummies.” Could you recommend some servers to buy or rent? I found out about the difference between Wordpress.com and Wordpress.org from Problogger.net and I want my own domain like a professional blogger.
Thank you for your time and cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
Rick R.
I downloaded it when Cow put it up, I loved it man, some very good information in there as usual, keep it up Yaro.
Dear Yaro,
I got my questions answered. I was having problems with downloading the software that was to help me see the videos on http://www.becomeablogger.com before, but I tried it again with success and I was able to see the videos this time.
Thank you for your time and cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
Rick R.
