Are You Giving Your Customers Full Attention?

Today I have a treat for you – Rich Schefren, my coach and mentor who helped me to restructure my business model to focus on what I really want to do and create significant freedoms in my life, has provided an original article for EJ readers covering the topic of the moment – attention.

This is an area that Rich has studied recently to a very significant degree and with the release of his Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 you can take advantage of his knowledge and foresight. No business owner should ignore this or you risk being ignored in your own marketplace.

You can download the Attention Age Doctrine by clicking here.

Pour Yourself an Attention Cocktail

Some people call it the “cocktail party effect.” Others just call it rude.

We’re all familiar with the scenario. You’re at a party or business function and you are introduced to someone you truly admire.

Immediately following the introduction, as you say something remarkably intelligent that you had prepared precisely for this moment, you notice that the other person is not making eye contact.

Instead, she is looking over your shoulder at the next person she would like to meet. She is not giving you full attention. In fact, you’re lucky if she’s paying attention to you at all.

Rather than focus on you and your story, that person you really admire is just looking for a way out of the conversation so she can move on to the next, presumably more interesting, conversation partner.

And she may not even realize she is doing it.

This happens more often than you think. Attention is fleeting. So is cocktail party conversation.

Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 Ready For Download

It’s been a long time coming, but Rich Schefren finally released his Attention Age Doctrine second installment.

You can get your copy for free by clicking here -

www.strategicprofits.com/doctrinenew/

As you may remember I wrote about the first part of this Doctrine back when it was released in July. The first report thoroughly delved into the world of information overload and highlighted how critical it is to find a way to cut through the noise and get attention.

Attention Age Doctrine Part 2 by Rich SchefrenRich promised that the second part would provide solutions and recommendations for how to deal with the situation. It took him nearly six months to finally finish it and today he released part two.

The reason it took so long is Rich had a lot to say about this issue – in fact his draft version of the document was up to 300 pages at one point – but he’s cut it down to the most important bits in the final release and it’s now well under 100 pages.

How Will This Document Help You?

I was lucky enough to get a preview copy of the Doctrine part 2 a few days in advance and I read it from start to finish. I also briefly chatted to Rich on the phone about what he is doing.

I’ve been very excited about where Rich was going with his business focus because Rich really is a thought leader when it comes to business strategy. He sees what is going on in the marketplace and then produces reports to tell us about it.

Paris Hilton Has AttentionObviously he has products and seminars to sell as part of these report releases, but they are entirely optional – you can enjoy and learn from the lessons without spending a dime. If you want help and more advice along the same lines, you can join Rich’s program or attend a seminar or purchase one of his study packages. That’s exactly what I did after he released his first Internet Business Manifesto report – I joined his business coaching program after reading it (and I had no idea who he was before that!).

The reason why I am so excited about this new report is the heavy focus on the importance of Web 2.0 – social media, online communities and of course, my favorite topic – blogging.

The main reason you need to download this report, especially if you are a blogger, is to see how important you are and how vital what you write on your blog is to business.

Blogs Are The Focal Point

The Doctrine Part 2 highlights several case studies where the power of the web community has impacted business.

4 Tips For Becoming A More Productive Entrepreneur

Productive EntrepreneurThese tips will make you a better human being in my opinion, but you have to stay on topic, so let’s focus on business.

Over the past few months I’ve experimented with some lifestyle changes. Not all of these changes were specifically about improving my business or working life, but they have enabled me to become more efficient at what I do during the day with my work. I suspect they will have a similar effect on you if you do them too.

Some of these tips, at least on the surface, might seem a bit dramatic to some people, others will laugh and say they have been doing these things for years. Either way, please read this advice with a mindset of how you could possibly implement them to help your life and your business.

How To Turn A Blog Post Into Passive Income

Wow, how compelling is that for a title of an article? I mean, doesn’t everyone want passive income? Isn’t that the holy grail, the promised land and the hopes and dreams of every Internet entrepreneur and would-be professional blogger?

Well maybe not, but let’s face it, we all want passive income and we all want to hear about opportunities to create it. I certainly do.

As you put into action techniques to make money online you begin to realize how truly NOT passive most ways of making money on the Internet are. In fact, I am yet to come across one income method that really is passive – and by that I mean pure passive. You set it up, walk away and it keeps making money.

True, there are systems you can set up that are low maintenance. You can even build businesses and have other people run them, but if you take stock in reality, even the best business models require you to do something. You still need to check in every now and then to make sure your employees are doing what they are supposed to.

Perhaps you don’t have employees and run a pay per click affiliate marketing business as a solo professional, sitting at home setting up AdWords campaigns for a living. Unfortunately, even the best pay per click artists still have to check on their campaigns now and then, so out the door with passive income.

Blogging as we know is not passive – far from it for most bloggers. The average blogger that actually makes money from it does it only when they perform certain actions. If you don’t write, then you don’t get paid.

Passive income is hard to generate for one reason – the world is dynamic. Human beings, some who work with you, some who you compete against, are dynamic, and because of that, if you are to do business, you must be dynamic. The only way to respond to dynamism and succeed, is to be dynamic yourself, and therein lies the work – and the end of any chance for passive income.

In order to react to a constantly changing environment, you must constantly change yourself. Changing takes work, that’s why it’s so hard to find ways to make money that are passive – sustainability requires change.

Blog Tips Newsletter by Yaro Starak

Techsmith are giving away free downloads of their video screen recording software Camtasia. The only catch? It is an older version.

———————

Hi Yaro,

Students in Blog Mastermind will know the blog case study videos I do, which are real live blog reviews recorded in a screencast video. Members ask me questions about their blog, then I go take a look, record the screen and the audio and offer my advice and tips to improve their blog.

I also do videos occasionally on my blog, for example, check out the video I did back in early 2007 that showed people how I made $6549.52 from blogging in March -

http://blogtraining.cachefly.net/make-money-blogging/

To create these videos and other videos I have released on my blog, I use a program called Camtasia. Camtasia is very easy to use and until recently you had to spend a few hundred dollars to get a copy.

Techsmith, the company the produces Camtasia, are giving away a free copy of the software, but there is a catch – you don’t get the latest version, you get Camtasia Studio 3.1.3.

Camtasia Studio 3.1.3 works great and while obviously it doesn’t have the features of the latest version, it has all of the core functions. You can record and produce videos fine, in fact I used this software for several months before upgrading.

If you want to take advantage of the free offer click here to download your copy of Camtasia Studio 3.1.3 by following these steps -
